The knife is Damascus made, by Chris Peterson (Salina, Utah) and anyone who knows knives, is aware of Chris’s work. The quality and craftsmanship his knives carry, are extraordinary.
Every part of this Knife’s Steel is formed and folded with hammer and forge.
You will be able to see the process of the Damascus folds in the steel when you look at the back of the blade and the knife’s edge has as many folds as the back of the knife, you just can’t see them. The Damascus process, also causes the beautifully distinct patterns on the knife’s sides. During the final phase of the process, the knife is Differentially Tempered, which hardens the knifes edge. The handle of this specific knife, is made from Bison Horn.
The process from start to finish is about 8-10 hours and none of Chris’ knives can be exactly replicated, they truly are – One of a Kind. These knives are extremely sharp and hold an edge for a long time and as Chris insists “They are made to be used, not looked at…”
You can tell it’s a genuine Chris Peterson knife, by his stamp on the side of the blade, which includes the no-sweat tear drop. Additionally, the knife’s scabbard/sheath is handmade by Chris’s wife and carries the Chris Peterson stamp. 100% guarantee – this knife was made by Chris Peterson.
This Knife is approximately 8 1/2 inches long (Blade is 4″ the Handle is 4 1/2″), the depth of the blade at its widest part is 1.1/4 inches. The balance of the knife is nothing less than perfect!
